  1. Thanks for asking an wicked awesome question!
Recently, I watched the TED award speech, which is presented by Jamie Oliver' ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIwrV5e6fMY ). I do really believe what he presented is one-hundred percent true. Therefore, I want you guys watch it too.
I would say most of counties' foods have being changed an American style. For example, as you might hear or eat Mongolian barbecue, the way it is cooked in Mongolia is totally different than its is cooked in the USA. In my case, I don't think the American version of Mongolian barbecue represents both my country and its food culture. People make things up and do business. This is what I see.

I hope you will share some thoughts about how the Italian pizza affect Italy.

  2. Enrico, I agree--great question! Mendy, it's true that it's often near-impossible to get "authentic" ethnic food in many places. Part of it may be driven by $ as you suggest, but also part of it is driven by product availability, knowledge, etc. I also interpreted Enrico's question to be about the culture's relationship to food, or how do you see the differences and similarities between the way your culture addresses food and the way American culture does. Perhaps both of you will chime back in!
